Bloody hell, where to begin? It seems that the past few years have seen the chavs take over, mainly since the council moved loads of them from the notorious Lansbury Park estate in Caerphilly over to Blackwood. Most of them can’t even speak properly (example: 15 yr old tracksuit/fake burberry clad chav “Oy bah……BAHHHHHHH. Lend me 10 bence for some faaaags”). Chav breeding grounds in the area include the Apollo Way, Penllwyn and Brittania estates. Now, I’m not saying that all these places are particularly bad, and all that live in them are the chav scum we’ve come to know (and hate) but increasingly large areas of them are beginning to resemble Beirut after a bad day of fighting. Other hotspots include the new trading estate at the bottom end of the high street which includes a McDonalds (no need to starve now, boys!) and a big car park at Asdas which becomes a focal point for knobheads in their chavved up Corsas, Saxos and Novas now that the police have started a campaign to try and stop them driving up and down the high street. In fact one chav was even in the local paper a few weeks back after winning a place in the “max power” finals in Birmingham. He managed to spend £15000 (yes fifteen thousand!) over the past three years doing his N-reg corsa up to be the ultimate Twatmobile including massive air vents on the bonnet, massive body kit, DVD player, big exhaust, leather racing seats, the whole chav caboodle! The article even had a picture of him wearing the typical chav-driver uniform (burberry cap, slack jawed gormless facial expression). Younger chavs can also be found congregating in the park on Attlee road, day and night, trying to impress each other and the locals with their limited vocabulary, most of which are words of less than four letters and two syllables, the bus station, the library on saturday mornings (why? is nowhere sacred?) and hanging around the steps by Somerfield.
Come on people of Blackwood, I urge you to join the fight to reclaim our town back from the rapidly spreading disease that is chavness!

I agree with a lot of this, Blackwood is full of ‘chavs’. But I happen to live between my Mum and My Grandparents homes, My mum residing in Apollo Way and My Grandparents at the bottom of the Penllwyn. They both have nice houses and nice exteriors. And not a ‘chavvy’ family whatsoever. The chavs in Apollo Way and Attlee Road, scare away the locals, So they are the only ones you see. It gives off a real bad impression. But Blackwood is not a shit-hole by any means, There is a lot of potential here and an upcoming valley town.
it is chav central over here in liverpool, some of them are ok but most of them do really stupid [sometimes funny] things! I.e. one chav i know hotwired a car the other day, i was amazed how he did it, i didnt think he could.

if the council bought a field and made a small charge for entrance most of the cars can be shown off in safety so i blame the councilors for not providing or thinking about a great idea and would benefit the local economy as well perhaps even have a trophy for best in show is this a good idea if it does happen i will be very surprised

The blackwood you describe- ie full of chavs can probably be found in most uk towns where young people congregate. Blackwood is a growing town with plenty of room for further expansion unlike caerphilly which was once a vibrant town now largely destroyed by idiotic council planners with their parking restrictions etc. As with most valley towns council estates and the dregs they very often produce blight the area keeping wages poor and aspirations poorer with the associated drug and crime problems that follow. However with all that said the thursday night cruise in blackwood which i witnessed gave me something to smile about, young people in souped up cars driving round like complete prats. If i was 18 i would love to have done the same showing off and looking for girls its like an american 50s movie! that said a little bit of control with helpfull policing could make this a real draw putting blackwood on the map- the americans would applaud it not try to destroy it.(though i do feel sorry asda) So chavs well who am i to judge but there is hope for these young people the cruise proves it and blackwood itself has a lot to offer as a valley town and with some thoughtfull council planning and a few more fine eateries it could become one of the best .
