This has got to be the number one dumping ground for all the benefit loafs of surrey, a trip down dartmouth avenue will make you realise just how lucky you are only to be driving through this dump. Every street corner is littered with chavs trying their hardest to attract a chavette, sporting the usual trademarks of nokia in hand wearing striped tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and having a disturbing lean against the graffiti ridden walls next to the shops.
Take a trip round the back of the shops and you will find all the chav hutches supplied by the local council strewn with car tyres stacked up in the front garden and the chav mums sitting in the doorway smoking fags and exchanging chav tips with the trash next door. Visit at your peril!!
Sheerwater is awful – in every sense of the word. There is no hope for this area what so ever. The comments about the “chavs” are fair and this can’t really be disputed. Anyone who knows the area, will tell you how Paul Weller came from there, but they will probably forget to tell you how he’s never been back since and has openly stated how he “dreds the thought of going back to Woking”.
Sheewater is a dump, and there is a discription on here of how so much rubbish and shit is dumped behind the shops – This is completely true. Tyres, prams, clothes, shoes, domestic-waste, cider bottles, it just goes on and on. I would say that maybe 80% of people who live in Sheerwater, have an alcohol and/or drug problem.
So many smack heads around there, so many peolpe drinking ‘Special K’, ‘Special Brew’, ‘White Lightning cider’. The place is run down and the people who live there are filth also. There is nothing there, and if you’re not from there, then don’t ever go there. Disgusting.
I was born in Albert drive in the flats and can’t quite believe Sheerwater has got that bad since I left.
Paul Weller, Ron Dennis and Rick Parfitt all grew up in Sheerwater and they have a lot more more money than u Darren, and more to the point so do I. I prob have a better degree than you, I prob have a better job than u and better family and friends. Some of you moaning about Sheerwater seem to know far to much about it..I think you wanted to be like us but knew we would never accept anyone as ugly as u into our neighbourhood. You obviously got beaten up when u were here ha ha love the fact ur hiding behind ur computer cos u know.

How can anyone disagree with what this man has said? In all honesty, he’s not even scratched the surface with how lame and deprived this place is. It’s worse that a ‘Chav Town’… The lowest of the lowest. Even people that live there, know it’s shit… They know their lives are pretty much as bad as it’s going to ever get (that’s why – maybe 30 – 40 % of people living there are on ‘smack’). There’s nothing there, a filthy and stinking pub… Which has changed hands so many times, I think it’s just about on it’s last legs and set to close down, there’s a ‘bookies’ and a shop that sells the most cheap and nasty cider… Which is most likely the best-selling item there – along side ‘Smack’ and ‘Crack’. The place is the human habitat-equivalent to a vermin-roadant’s nest/gutter. If you’re replying to this person’s very fair comment and opinion on this area, then ‘SHAME ON YOU’… Sheerwater is for scum, nothing-more… Nothing-Less.

Sheerwater’s a great place to live, very friendly people here. Yeah, there are a few nobs but you get them in the nicest parts of the UK as well. Plus, there are more places for the youth to go to (like the football/athletics club) so youth crime is dropping fast in the area.
Yeah, there are a lot of people here on benefits/low income, but they are far from crooked and there’s a great community feel and vibe here.
I lived in Stoke and Hull before moving here, and Sheerwater is quite frankly paradise in comparison.

such a shame to even talk about sheerwater like this. i grew up there over 50 years ago, unbelievable place, fantastic.,, i am really sad to even think about people slagging off a place, not understanding it is not sheerwaters fault, it is the same in any part of the country, good breeds good, bad breeds bad. so instead of slagging the place off, try understanding the reason.
