Well what can be said about my small industrial backwater town. Ok here it goes…. Wednesbury is mainly split into Estates!! (How chav is that!!) There is The Yew tree estate, wood’s estate and the most infamous of the 3, Friar Park. Unfortunately, I reside very close to it. And in some people’s eyes I reside within! (tragic I know.) Yew tree and Wood’s are bad enough but Friar Park’s chav population must be close on 100% (maybe about half a dozen skaters and rockers around.) And because they are from Friar Park they can be pricks as well! (Sadly but that is what estate life does to you.)
If you have never visited Friar Park or Wednesbury I suggest you seriously keep it that way. There is precisely nothing here at all. I mean not even a nightclub, well there was but that closed down after you could guarentee that there was always a fight come throwing out time!!!
The chav popolous like to hang out in places like the cottage where anyone with a pulse gets served. Seriously I’m just legal to drink, but when I last went in there I surely was the oldest there!!!
The wetherspoon’s in town on a Weekend night is full of chav’s getting tanked up before they move on to Walsall (how I don’t envy that town at all!!) There you can witness the male chav try to “pull” the female of the species, a techinque that is remarkable not only for it’s pathetic-ness (sorry I don’t think that is a word) but how 9/10 chavette’s fall for it! Amazing! Not only that you get the flesh-crawling sight of the dirty old men try to chat up the young and “pretty looking” girls. Eugh!
Amongst other places such as Brunswich Park, don’t go there after dark! And numerous bus stops and street corners around my horrible little town.
How ever there is one saving grace to Wednesbury, and I’m not talking about how accesible the motorway to get out of there!
No, The pub called “The Pig and Trumpet” smashing little pub, just by the HSBC and it would take an amazing brave or amazing stupid chav to enter “the pig” at night!
I was raised in Friar Park in absolute poverty. I lived in a council house with no heating and damp throughout. The children were mostly feral and were all trying to gain ‘top dog’ status by beating people up and stealing from whoever they could.
Sandwell is one of the most deprived boroughs in the country and its fair to say the area lacks essential resources needed in education, health and housing.
However, the majority of people in the area have little ambition to attain the skills they need to improve their lifestyle.
It would be ridiculously unjust to tarnish all residents with the same brush, but it does in places have striking similarities to the Chatsworth Estate.
Whilst my parents didn’t have much they encouraged me to reach my full potential, which I have. A lot of the children I went to school with are in jail, on drugs or on benefits. They also regularly moan about the hard time they get for being on benefits, in spite of the fact they consider it a lifestyle choice. Leaving was the best thing I ever did.
Yew Tree is Walsall
My family live in friar park.I dont anymore i live in Thailand. Everytime i go there to see my family i never have a problem with anyone but as soon as i hit west bromwich thats when it all starts to kick off. You see my boyfriend is Thai we met in birmingham he speaks fluent english. He was brought up in texas and he’s very good looking but that dont stop people in west brom being racist and calling him a chinky even though hes not Chinese. Don’t go to west brom after about 5pm trust me thay will target anyone.
