Canvey died with Kings Club (K-I-N-G-S) the towns a ghost town of pound shops and an overpriced (mini) supermarket. The school I went to is now a college, it takes an average 45 mins to get off the “rock”. The industrial estate is dead on its arse (I should know I had work in the past there) frankly it amazes me, years back you couldn’t develop on Thorney Bay due to gas pockets and now there’s a big estate there. (something stinks and it’s not Pitsea tip!) Between the speed bumps n cameras and overpriced housing this ain’t the lovely seaside town I grew up in but hey everyones gotta live somewhere! P.s left 10 years ago n never looked back!

The rant about Canvey is 100% accurate. Canvey Island is a thorough shit-hole and the combined IQ of the 37469 inhabitants is 73. Just look at the comments from the dolts defending the cesspit and you will know that I’m right. Ignorant, deluded chavs, every last one of them.

I would just like to say that this article is very very wrong about it. Ive lived on cavey all my life and i have come to be very very successful. i feel that some of what you people are writing as comments, for example when you want to get away from the chavs you go lakeside……yeah ok i can garantee that lakeside has twice if not 3 times the amount of chavs canvey does and besides it only looks like alot of chavs because we also have weirdos that stay in there house all day listening to depressive music and talking to imaginary friends on facebook, at least our so called “chavs” are getting out and experiencing life.

Ive been to and seen worse places then canvey and im pretty sure the person who wrote this doesnt have a clue what their talking about or is a weirdo that stays in all day on his computer listening to depressive music and talking to his imaginary friends and is probably about 40 still living with his parents.

Get over yourself!

What you have written is absolute rubbish….
1) I Live in Canvey Island and it is a great place to live
2) Yes theres the odd few chavs here or there and youths hang around but they dont cause any bother. The only few that do, ask for cigarrettes but not mobile fones n wallets!
3) Everytime i go to the beach the sea is fine and i always see sand everywhere. CHECK THE FACTS!
4) The thing about coming back in an ambulance is a step too far, you are pushing ur luck BIG TIME……I Seriously Feel Like you are practically trying to make us live in our own world away from everyone else until we leave.

The Concrete Boat has been destroyed because it is a health risk.

Also you haven’t got your facts right

1) The beach is a nice place (No condoms or trolleys or Chavs) The trolleys are all in Canvey Lake or the Dykes (not Lesbians)
2) The Shopping centre (no such place) is not deserted. Its full of old people

Not everyone on Canvey are Chavs, for I am not a Chav. I’m a Indie-Scene Kid. But to be honest most people on Canvey are. I mostly travel to Southend or Lakeside to escape the Chavs.
