Kensington of the North, The UK’s Milan and England’s Barcelona are just some of the names used to describe this up-and-coming former textile town in West Yorkshire. Personally I prefer scally riddled shit-tip. True, the bourgeoisie glory of parts of the city centre is a sight to behold, however this is a cruel aberration. Just a bricks throw from Harvey Nicks and Louis Vuitton lies an altogether much darker side. Designer chic gives way to Kappa shite. Aston Martins are replaced by souped-up Novas and bulldog-faced fat slags and their smack-head boyfriends replace the long-limbed beautiful people of the cities Milanese arcades. If ever there was a case of a sows ear masquerading as a silk purse, it’s Leeds. Underneath all the rhetoric and the snooty bars, Leeds is chavscum central. Dare to venture into the city centre after dark and you get to see the real Leeds in it’s awful, head-stomping, blood stained glory. Inebriated fat whores, eff and blind their way from trashy bar to trashy bar, while rodent-faced arsewipes hurl obscenities at couples leaving the numerous swish restaurants. Amidst all the mayhem, dozens of crackheads hide in darkened alleyways waiting to pounce jack-the-ripper like on unsuspecting revellers. A night-out in Leeds is truly a must for those case studying gratuitous violence and depraved sexual conduct. Come daybreak after all the older chavs have smashed and vomited their way home, the younger breed of chavs venture out. The delightful neighbourhoods of Beeston, East End Park and Gipton are the perfect locations to see these particularly vile specimens. Twelve year old trollops resplendent in their Lizzy Duke earrings and Mr T chains, stuff Gregs pasties into their offsprings chocolate covered mouths. Meanwhile demonic gangs of stick wielding hooded scumbags prowl the streets looking for old folk and students to rob and throw in the nearest canal. Yes, Leeds has a unique and altogether more terrifying mutation on the urban chav, the psycho chav, and be warned, these can be female as well as male, although I use the term ‘female’ rather loosely. Bump into these c*nts and you’d better be able to fight like a Rottweiler with trapped knackers or run like cheetah with a banger up it’s arse. Damien from The Omen has nothing on these arseholes.
Admit it its a f**king shit hole, nearly 70 years after ww2 and we are stuck with the same scum, you make me sick
I live in East End Park, and to be fair, its not rough. Cross Green can get dodgy at night, and so can bits of Richmond Hill, but otherwise the houses along the Parade and the Dawlish estate aren’t that bad. A lot of areas get a bad reputation, and I’ve got mates all over Leeds – I’ve walked through Halton Moor, Seacroft, Swarcliffe, Harehills, Chapeltown, Little London and Armley at night, and not once have I been assaulted. Theres been fights, yeah, but saying an areas rough ‘cos theres youths fighting? Its been going on for years, gangs from different estates have always fought each other.
Just wanna say one thing for now as I have got things to do… comment more later.
Talking about Chavs here…why o why is it when they walk down streets of any area and I am sure that most people will have noticed this.
They all peer into parked car windows having a good look…not just one car but a whole street of cars…dont they realise that when a low life/s walks down any street they will be watched…or recorded.
Some aspects of Leeds are okay such as Headingley for instance, although I put that don’t to the fact that mostly students live their and most of them aren’t from Leeds. I find Leeds to be a very cliquey place to live because a lot of people think they’re better than actually they are. Tell me though, how can you think and act like you’re better than the next person because you’re pumped up on steroids, wear v neck t shirts 2 sizes too small and are fake baked until you’re terra cotta. The girls are all orange wag wannabes, with stupid little rat dog armpit warmers, fake LV bags, scraggy back combed hair (weaves or wigs, it’s hard to tell) and they wear tights as leggings (like actual tights so you can clearly see their cellulite).
And since when has working in Harvey Nicks ever given anyone the right to look down their nose at anyone? Ask anyone in Leeds and they will back me on this.
It smells stagnant, the locals are ignorant, inbred and ratty. I’ve never found them to be friendly or engaging. And what’s with all this EDL bullshit? I saw eight of these EDL pricks bullying one Muslim guy on a Saturday afternoon telling him to ‘talk properly because he’s in England’ and waving a Union Jack at him. I’ve never heard one of these rat faced Yorkshire Cunts speak English yet! “I’ll put this in us car” wtf?!
Places to avoid or nail bomb if you want to do us all a favour:
Distrikt, Harvey Nicks, Back2Basics(Stinky Peep House), Aqua, Allsaints, Leeds Market, Jumbo Records, The Merrion Centre, Call Lane (Saturday night), Tiger Tiger and Rebel Pin Up.
To conclude, don’t come here (unless you like shitholes that is, I’m saving up to leave here asap)! f**k Leeds, f**k Greggs, f**k EDL, f**k V necks and f**k Back2Basics!
Oh eck, I’ve just recently moved here to north leeds from harrogate. Tell you what, the peeps here are much nicer than back there, harrogate folk have their heads up their own yet they don’t have 2 coins to rub together. They don’t talk to you unless you talk about the 200 acre expanse of swamp called the stray! and that colourless glorified expanded garden called valley gardens along with bettys cafe they all think is the bees knees and posher than the Ivy in London. Crazy people. If you try! talking to them about ANYTHING that doesn’t include their pretentious little town then it’s a case of ‘your face doesn’t fit’. Horrible place it is. Those big grey victorian houses… do NOT be fooled, they are nearly all made into boxy flats. Just out of the town centre there are 9 council estates dotted around Harrogate, some you keep away from at night like the Broadacres, Dene Park, Monkey Island (starbeck), Harewood Drive (Jennyfields) Fountains Avenue (Bilton) and Oakdale Avenue (Ripon Rd) The town centre at the weekends nightime is just like anywhere else for fuelled-up lagerheads and drugies fighting. It also has it’s chav element. North Leeds is much more affluent than Harrogate. Including Roundhay which is upmarket too. I couldn’t afford Roundhay lol.
I live in Yeadon, on the outskirts of Leeds… It’s a good area, but there are rough people about still.
I was actually told that the area is in the 1% England’s richest area category, which surprised me. Sure you get some rich c**t driving about in a lambo, Aston or Ferrari every once in a while, but most people have had to work for what they have. I wouldnt consider myself rich at all. I’m not in poverty, but I’m certainly not rich.
There are like anywhere dealers, but there are f**king loads of them around here. There is violence too. The 1% comes from (I think) a bunch of bug ass houses you find about… But there are estates about. Because it’s on the border of Bradford and it’s near the airport, it’s busy as f**k too. Relatives of mine live up the road in estates and there is a stubble in the area, so I don’t see how they can generalise the 1%.
And another thing. I’ve seen people talking about Beeston, Chapeltown, Harehill, etc being rough… Yeah I agree with this. But on one thing, some guy was talking about Harrogate… I f**king sorry, but how the f**k can you say Harrogate is roughy and he was ‘glad he got out’. If you thought it was bad, don’t leave your bubble and experience other parts of the country that may be ‘dissatisfying’. Pussyole.
I live there to its fantastic Im from Nigeria ,I come in back of lorry yes realy I come in back of lorry,I get in the back with seveteen year old white girl from Yeadon.I give her £3.
I lived at Amberton Garth ‘Gipton’for 8 years, total shithole like the rest of Leeds.Glad i am out.
We are born and bred East End Parkers, we fuckin luv our estate! if u got owt 2 say come to “the Drive” till i die yeah pussy holes haha!!! You all need to get your nose out of yours arses and big up 2 james beeston yesasez!!! We live on billionaires row and wouldnt want to move for the world LEEDS 9 all the way!! Big up STE P of THE DRIVE!!! lee mudd all the yeah. bj brattley hardest c**t in leeds 9 yesasez! Shout out to callum boylan with hes piercing blue eyes! and all the leeds 9 crew!! f**k THE 15 POST CODE YEAH FAGGITS So all you toffee nose fuckers DO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You sound like a halfwit or is that what you would like to be, seems to me your full of shit but dont have the brains to realise it
I was born on quarry hill flats in leeds, moved to east end park when about 10 or so, still live in east end park and I have mixed feelings. I was a postman for 26 years, around leeds, and conseqently I have seen a lot of areas, and to be fair I used to dread delivering down burley road, kirkstall way, I arent entirely sure why, it had such a bad reputation at one point, armley and bramley had a similar reputation, but I was never really bothered by those areas, chapeltown never really bothered me either, gipton and oakwood, seacroft were okay. Hunslet, holbeck were a bit ropey, but my realisation hit me one day when I realised that all areas are okay at 10 o clock in the morning, surely very different on an evening. I recently had reason to report to the LGI, accident and emergency in leeds, they kept me in all evening and night and gave me the all clear to go home at 2 in the morning. It was a sunday night \ monday morning. I have to agree with what somebody mentioned, leeds is the definitive gathering of the lowest levels of scum that you can imagine at 2 in the morning, no police to be seen anywhere, basically a different world.
I dont know what the word ‘chav’ means, I dont want to, The blame comes back to the government, or lack of government, underfunded, bad policing and parents who neither know, nor care. The whole country is too far gone now, theres no hope. Local councillors pat themselves on the back and fool themselves that they make a differenence, which is bollox, they just distribute the trouble evenly over and around leeds.
Course, most people who dont ever experience any issues dont have reason to complain, they stick their heads in the sand and hope they get left alone, but, that dont work, unless you want to spend your life locked inside a little room, afraid to go out after dark.
I dont get much bother, ,,maybe lucky, maybe I know one or two that count. The irony for me though is not just the druggy , drunks of parents they have, its the grown men who delight in knowing individuals who are reputable for violence, crime etc.,its almost like they hold these shiteads in higher esteem than they would hold a respectable man who works, contributes to society and bothers nobody.
So here we have it, 10 year olds who look up to thier smackhead parents, who look up to criminals, and thats not just in leeds by the way.
Leeds are going up going up, Leeds are going up. Leeds is one of the most passionate city’s in England, when people from Leeds go out of Leeds all they sing and shout about is Leeds. I’m originally from Manchester but moved to Leeds when I was 15 and i’ve been converted.. Things are just different in Leeds, the people are so proud of their history and culture.. Although like every big city (3rd biggest in England) there are some shit holes but there are some gorgeous parts too like Otley, Wetherby, Morley, Moortown, Chapple Allerton and the like.
QUOTED FROM ANOTHER POST
I’m sure you’ve read about other towns being infested with chavs, I mean, why else would you be on this site? Anywho, I assure you that you haven’t yet read about a town so pathetic and ‘wannabe’ as Morley.
So, where is Morley? Morley’s in Leeds. It’s quite a small place but is infested with loads of chavs and thugs and whatnot. And to give chavs some fairness, these people in Morley are just ‘wannabe’. If you know what I mean.
I don’t actually live anywhere near Morley but I have contacts that do, and I’ve heard off of them how much of a shithole it is, so bare with me.
In my lifetime I’ve been through a hell of a lot, involving people who call themselves chavs, so I know what it’s like when my friend who lives in Morley says it’s a crap town and deserves to be demolished.
THERE YOU GO, EVEN THE GOOD ISN’T HEAVENLY
I lived in Leeds for ten years and thankfully I have just left.
I was lucky enough to live on the outskirts of north Leeds, so exposure to chavs and their vile culture was minimal. Leeds is awash with chavs and chav culture. I use the term chav to describe generic council estate folk who have a strong accent, lack class, lack the ambition to move on, lack social skills, lack manners and generally walk round with a face like a smacked arse – particularly council estate women over the age of 35. These women are ten a penny in town, both during the day and at night. I used to hate having to be around the market in town, it’s full of scummy chav types round there. And walking past those two pubs on The Headrow where only the most discerning of socially retarded lowlife loiters for a cheap pint and a gobbing off session on the pavement. f**king scum.
There are huge areas of Leeds that are chavvy. Large estates of socially retarted scum who think they’re really cool and clearly are not.
So glad I left. Most of it is a horrible shithole and that won’t change in the foreseeable future.
What gets me more than anything with chavs and council estate scum, is this idea they have that they’re cool. Now, I know they aren’t the brightest but for f**k’s sake, get a grip. You’re at the bottom of the social scale and typically have no desire to move upwards, even if you knew how. You’re not cool, quite the opposite. Live with it, accept it and know your place.
i have a strong accent, live on a council estate in South Leeds. Have progressed throughout my working life and earn between 200-400 a day dependent on my IT contract. Maybe you don’t like Leeds cos we eat judgemental pricks like you for breakfast. I’m more than happy for you to try and show me my place. You sir, are a cock
i bet the guy who wrote that about leeds is a southern fairy……
Not really, you use that as an excuse because you have no desire to better yourself, wisdom to have an open mind will teach you to listen and learn, a closed mind will blind you to the truth that what others say may actually be true. we listen we learn and gain knowledge to improve ourselves.
I grew up on a north east council estate, I left school with no qualifications., I have achieved success by determination and hard work, I own rental properties and have a villa in greece, does this make me a northern fairy.
Chavs work harder at being stupid than by being clever they simply think the world owes them a living, they dont realize how thick they really are because they dont use their brains
I grew up in a family of 6 children, on an extremely rough council estate, and then moved to another rough area in my teens. I went to a rubbish school, and my area was crime-ridden – drugs, crime, violence, etc – and it was so bad that even police tried to avoid the area. I’m now a polite, decent mannerable 26 year old, who would now consider herself intelligent and articulate. I left my rubbish school with top grades, got into college and did well there, and went on to university. I had no money and so stayed living at home to study in my so called ‘slum’ area. This did not distract me and I worked hard and left uni with a good grade. I’m now training to be a Lawyer. I’m not some rich snob that grew up with a spoon in my mouth. Nor did I have rich parents to ‘put me through’ university and pay for a private education. My siblings and i didn’t grow up on brand names, like the latest Nike trainers and Adidas hoodies and so on. We were extrelemy poor and grew up WAY below. But do you know what? My parents instilled in us discipline, manners, respect for people, self-respect and ambition. We where taught that education matters, there are consequences for ALL actions, and that this world owes us NOTHING. We were taught that if we wanted something in life, anything, no matter how big or small, we had to work for it. And you know what? All of my mothers older children went on to study and have all become something. The younger ones are on their way. I’m not trying to be smug or anything, but I HATE when people use pathetic excuses like poor upbringings, social status and so on in order to behave like immature ‘chavs’. The thuggery, lack of respect, lack of ambition etc. While it’s true that ‘scum’ can bread ‘scum’, it still comes down to decency and ambition. Why don’t people instead use their backgrounds as a reason, and motivation for doing better and becoming better people? College doesn’t cost anything. In fact, these days, you get PAID to attend college! Rather than sponge off the state, cause trouble on others, and lead these ‘chavvy’ lifestyles, get an education. You need it. The dreadful language used by some on this site speaks for itself. Parents, you may not be able to afford a posh education – most people can’t. But it doesn’t cost a penny to teach your children respect for themeslves and others, manner, ambiton, pride and so on. I could so easily have given in to the peer pressure and become a so-called ‘chav’, hanging around on street corners drinking, stealing to get hold of branded items but my upbringing enabled me to say NO! I thank my parents. I blame the parents of these thugs. If people can’t bring up a child properly – and no I don’t mean they need to have a lot of money – then they really shouldn’t have them at all. After all, these kids will be the future, and we really don’t need anymore ‘scum’.
As for Leeds, it is generally a mixed bag. The affluent areas tend to be really affluent, while the poorer areas (like where I’m from) seem to get poorer. I’m not going to name area names thought becasue EVERY area has it’s good and bad points, every persons experiences differ from the next person, and what seems rough to some will appear good to others. You can’t judge an entire area (especially if you’ve not lived there)as it’s too much of a generalisation. Adel is considered posh. But I know two people who live on neighbouring roads. One complains that his life is absolute hell, whilst the other can’t wait to bring up her family there as its ‘so nice’!

Absoultely agree. No area is 100% bad and its often quite the opposite, people just seem to become post code snobs and the like because they live in their own houses… everywhere has good and bad, and sadly it seems that the two occur not too far away from one another, whether it be in the sam street, area or postcode
Your absolutely right what you say but your preaching to a pouplation of scum beyond redemption, they have parents with no morals or values and do not give discipline, they live only for today in their trashy clothes that only they think are fashionable.
Should we blame them for not being individuals, they follow like sheep because they can not think for themselves, half can not read or write and are left behind simply because their parent failed them by not educating them.
I was never given much as a kid but I was given one thing that made me a better person for life and that one thing was discipline.
Smack your kids but do not beat them, teach respect and manners and the future is theirs to enjoy.
Hahahahaha, your going to fuk me up dicked? WHAT! WHAT! braaaap!
Two guesses, the author of that comment either went to intake or west leeds…
or didn’t go to school at all.
hahahahahahaha i haven’t laughed this much in a long time!!! Ok so maybe this description of Leeds is a little one-sided i mean don’t get me wrong i’ve lived here my whole life and it does some up about 60% of Leeds pretty well, but there are some genuinely nice people and nice places, its just a shame there is so much shit surrounding them! and as for the small irritating little chavs that is so true, they are pathetic excuses for human beings, its sad really because i remember being their age (not so long ago i’m only 18) and i can honestly say i blame my peers for causing all of this because it appears to have gotten worse whilst we were going through the teenage years! i am just glad i have managed to successfully come out the other side without being corrupted by these chavs!
and finally Oh my lord, i just read that “Natzofleeds” comment! I swear i had to read it like 3 times to understand it and get over the vulgar language, seriously im not particularly posh im from Otley but that was just awful language my parents would slap me and probably kick me out if i ever came home talking like that! never thought i’d say it but thank god i have parents with traditional values!!!
Oh and by the way. I grew up in a council house on a very rough estate before you accuse me of being born with everything handed to me on a plate. But my parents brought me up to be polite and respectful to others. These days kids are not brought up properly. It is getting worse….. TRAMPS breed TRAMPS breed TRAMPS breed TRAMPS etc……
Oh dear
“f**k you up” ???? What a set of dildos… yes dildos. It is obvious that the “children” that write these comments need to do a lot of growing up. If you are not children, then I bet you are on benifits and have no desire to ever work in your shitty little lives and you want to sponge of the state to pay for your crappy chav lifetyle. oh no…. are you going to “f**k me up”? Its time you people grew up, don’t you understand how much you show yourselves up? I feel very sorry for anyone who is in this position, but you only have yourselves to blame. I suppose your comment to this will be “Am gonna stab him init”. Need I say anymore. Get a job, grow up and be a responsible adult like most “normal” people are.
To be honest I don’t know wtf that guy (Mark) is going on about war for. Unless you’ve lived in a proper rough area you don’t know how disgusting chav culture can actually be.
Leeds isn’t that bad for scals, you wanna try some areas of Liverpool lad, then you’ll be telling a different story.
Either way, it’s not acceptable to go round beating people up and shouting abusive comments for no reason.
I think this is well funny, i’m from eastend park area and lived here all my life and the area is not a shit hole maybe richmond hill has gone down hill.
Yes many young people are chav’s its a stage in life people go through and also many children go this way as either they have had no support from there family etc and left to defend for there self and in the long run have met simular people like there selfs who have accepted them for them not like the upper class people who look down on less unfortunate people.
Eastend park was where the irish community lived has again the english wouldnt accept them into there communtiy and they built up this area with there own hands.
Because eastend park is a small community you are guaranteed that most people know someone or the next etc in this area making it safe for the people who live here.
I am proud to live here and have a successful career which ive gain from reality and i work up north leeds the upper class area and have to say many young children up that area apart from holt park have no independance or comon sense how to survive on there own.
Every area has troubled teenagers whether its cookridge eastend park bramley where ever, but everyone has a purpose in life!
I live In East End Park and could not agree with this more. When they’ve come around our streets, lived our lives and seen what the majority of it is actually like, then they would know. But no, the majority of people are just snobs tarnishing everywhere with the same brish without actually seeing the area. We don’t all live in back to back terraced houses scrounging off of the state; in fact not many of us do. There is a small area, known locally as ‘the Drive’ that probably do so and this is where 90% of the crime happens in the area. There are about 12 streets there at most, yet the whole area gets branded with the same reputation because this is the only bit that people hear of. And those that have no local knowledge believe this to be the case across the whole area. It is a guarantee that at least 85% of East End Park is a nice place, with nice people and nice streets/houses, yet I get told that my area is rough, scruffy and dangerous… when you’re family have lived here for 5 decades, come back and see if you think the same.. we aren’t rough or anything, we are real people and are streetwise because we don’t hide from the harshness of the real world because we see it in the division in the area. But that division, a very small part of it being rough, is not the whole area. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! Everywhere has good and bad so just get over yourselves and notice that even in the poshest of areas problems occur.. THAT IS LIFE
I’m 13, and I live in Tingley near Leeds. Whenever I’ve been into Leeds, in certain areas, I feel more at threat than others. In the centre, its fine. Also, my Grandparents live in Bell Isle. The thing with Bell Isle is there are small areas that are trouble free, and lovely. My grandparents live in a cul de sac like this. But then theres other places where you feel intimidated!
The other people trying to argue Leeds case, are quite honestly failing. Your not making Leeds seem any better threating to “f**k u up”!
Oh, and I rofl’ed at Henrys comment =
“Oh well, we need someone to flip our burgers I suppose.”
