Greetings from the real world.

I have only just read your response, hence the lateness of
my reply.

I do apologise if my spelling and grammar are not up to your
exacting standards.

The fact that you obviously read the rest of the posts, and
then chose to criticise my command of the English language is a
fascinating insight to the way you think.

We can’t criticise the posts that looked like someone had
been head butting the keyboard, doing that might discourage the little
darlings.

The self satisfied, smug attitude you display prompts me to think
that you may well be a member of our current “forward thinking” educational
establishment.

Your party political broadcast of a response also leads me
to guess that you are involved in local government and/or party politics at
some level. Either way, civil servant of some kind is a safe bet; no one else
could possibly have their head that deep in the sand.

I may be totally wrong in my assumptions about you, it’s
easy to form opinions after reading a single internet post isn’t it? You should
know! Very different to commenting on a social phenomenon we have all
witnessed.

In response to your first point, it is true that there is a huge
difference between 80s Goths and what you call goth-lite, but the fact remains
that there will always be those who choose to group into herd’s and those who have
some spark of individuality. Same type’s of people, different generation.

The fact that you will casually belittle the “goth lites”,
whilst defending chavs as social victims, also speaks volumes.

It is also perfectly true that the new housing in Crewe is aimed at commuters, who else would it be aimed
at, there are no industries left. This is fine and dandy for those who leave
school able to secure “commuter type” jobs but what becomes of those who can’t?

Should we really be promoting a 50 mile round trip to Manchester as the
preferred work option? Not terribly eco-friendly is it!

You state that there are “very few jobs and opportunities in
the area”. You then follow it up with “the new industries and businesses
opening in Crewe will bring and have brought
better and more prominent job opportunities.”
Am I missing something or are you just trotting out the spin?

I have been trying desperately to think of the new
businesses you refer to and apart from a few warehouses on Crewe Gates
Industrial Park I can’t
think of any. A few dozen fork truck drivers and a handful of security guards
is hardly the basis of an economic powerhouse is it! Especially when you
consider the departure of Rolls Royce, most of Crewe
railway works, Midland Roll Makers, the Co-Op Tea Factory, Chester Barrie,
Acco, the list is endless.

Chavs are often seen on the technology park, but only at night
hand brake turning their Vauxhall Novas.

Our biggest employer is now a debt ridden hospital bouncing
along the bottom of the performance tables. If you want to be a “Health and Safety
Community Outreach Co-ordination and Diversity Facilitation Manager” then
Leighton is defiantly the place to be. Other non-jobs are invented daily, many
exciting opportunities available to join New Labour P.L.C.

Combine with this the fact that we now have three and a half
thousand Polish immigrant workers in Crewe,
all willing to work for far less than it takes to make a decent life for
yourself if you live here permanently.

It has all the makings of a disaster and it’s the criminal
incompetence of Crewe and Nantwich council (council deliberately spelt with a
lower case “c”) that has created this time bomb.

Of all the people I know, not one of them works in Crewe (and they do all work).

When the less capable realise that their only career option
involves wearing a cardboard hat whilst saying “do you want fries with that” it
is no wonder they give up.

Those amongst us that would previously have taken up the
lower skilled positions in local factories now have no options left. Despite
the propaganda, we can’t all be computer programmers, some just don’t have the
ability. The message sent to these people is that society is not interested in
them and that they have nothing to offer.

Regarding the chavs, It’s not the people I object to it’s
the culture. Regardless of how many activities you provide for young people if
the prevailing trend is to be a lazy, foul mouthed, promiscuous yob, then you
might as well not bother.

Despite the local council’s delusions of omnipotence, youth
culture is not something they have the power to change.

As you may have guessed I have been the victim of these
cavemen in my younger days (don’t bother with the Freudian psycho-babble about
repressed anger).

When a mouthy 16 year old is attempting to intimidate you,
it now takes great self control, not to smack him into next week.

I don’t retaliate; primarily because of the values and
principals taught to me as a child i.e. I can tell the difference between right
and wrong.

The 16 year old chav, on the other hand, would have no
hesitation in beating the hell out of a 12 year old.

To him, right and wrong are defined purely by what he can
get away with, and as it is deemed to be against his human rights not to let
him do exactly as he pleases, he can get away with most things.

I am sure you will have a response to this, probably using
all the latest buzzwords.

Please feel free to do so as I would love to debate this
further. You are obviously the kind of fluffy minded liberal whose hippy values
accidentally created these feral children in the first place.

It has just been pointed out to me that you are also the
author of another post. So you moved to Preston University
did you, which certainly explains a lot.

You don’t say if you are now working.

If you are, I note that you have not returned to take up one
of the numerous job opportunities supposedly available in Crewe.

There is also a marked difference in the attitudes displayed
in the two posts. Obviously the communism for beginner’s lectures you received
whilst protected from reality had a great influence on you.

If you are still a student surely you username should be
“daddyisanuppermiddleclassguy” as I fail to see how you can of achieved upper
middle class status of your own accord by the age of 23.

If you have then congratulations, achievement is not a sin,
just a taxable commodity.
