I’ve recently read some of the postings of my dear home town Birkenhead (pronounced Berk – In – Hed); in my personal view they do not appreciate the full chav-ness of which I call home. I would like to comment specifically on Park High School – Specialist Sports College which in my opinion is the definition of CHAV.
I myself am one of few who have studied at this particular Comprehensive and one of even fewer who actually got GCSE’s that didn’t spell F-U-D-G-E. The British governments rant on about how much they are putting into the British education system. I can see how they have done this Park High School is now a SPECIALIST SPORTS COLLEGE (this now makes Physical education mandatory for all students). Yet I can’t help thinking this was another idea of the education system (JJB sponsored I should think) to force students into buying more sportswear. Park High School (Specialist Sports College) has had so much money invested into to bring it back up to government standards, this has actually worked as now the rats queue up to feed in the canteen, to eat the vile slop that is classed as food (the healthiest, yet not the safest) option is to wait until the very end of lunch, this is when all the fat in the chips is likely to have congealed into a thick slop and then re-used. While eating the over-priced crap you are likely to endure listening to either new York gangster rap or Happy Hardcore Raving “Music”, while your ears are being excruciatingly assaulted you have to be aware around you as somebody’s dinner might choose to jump of the table and give your face, hair or uniform a revamp.
As a visitor to the Specialist Sports College you are likely to see students carrying the neon yellow Dirty Sports bags – which are sold at the school reception for a bargain 50p!! The female species of Chav which are likely to attend the school will be easily spotted, wearing over sized Creole earrings or Hoops (depending on what the half price jewelers have in stock). The Girls also seem to slouch, this is due to the huge 9 carrot gold chains around their necks, the chains come in assortments of either a Rag doll School Girl or Clown, yet the latest trend seems to be personalized jewelry stating their names, yet this is sometimes not the case a Tiffany might have lent her Jackie’s Chain or maybe took it off some poor unsuspecting first year while loosing their Virginity behind the sports hall > behind the smokers. The girls can also be spotted in a crown from, the Orange legs and faces. The male Chav’s are likely to be sporting a Lacoste ™ jacket instead of the mandatory Blazer.
The talk of the school Chav network ranges from – “Greg shagged Gina behind Lisa’s back, and Gina is supposed to be Lisa’s best mate, so Lisa’s gonna kick her head in at the end of the day” to “how Courtney give Ian and Dava a (and I quote) suck after French so they’d help her with her math’s course work”.
There are many more Chav-ism’s I could comment on but that would take away the mystery which is Chav.
So i’ll tell you the history of the downturn of Park High School. I was there from 1990 to 1995 when it was one of the most respected schools on the Wirral, then B.I. (Birkenhead Institute) closed down and merged into Park High in 1993. They were scumbags, nasty little bastards that needed putting down like rodents. The school quality dropped in no time, which obvious as some of the comments written here are not even in proper English – ‘Skewl’, ‘u’, ‘copyin’, f**k no wonder England’s gone down the the shitter, glad I left.
Anyhow, Park High School ‘Was’ a really credible school once, what a shame….
Hmmm park high a strange subject….i attended there from 1994-1999 and it was a bad place then. Full of bullys and weirdo little slags the teachers were f**ked up aswell mrs salter,mr mcmahon, mr rushton (wiggy), and my favoroute mr astbury the big nosed bastard
I myself hated this school to absolute death i relished the day i left and moved out of birkenhead soon afterwards the best thing i ever done if your still in there now trust me get out of birkenhead asap as soon as you leave school and can you all write comments properley instead of all that ‘ye lad me skewls da bestest fing evr’ thats what happens when you do english at park high. Oh and by the way im not a mosher or an emo i am infact an ex-chav who in the past has been in and out of prison sold/took drugs bullied people and been on and off the dole i have now grew up moved from birkenhead to another part of the country and am now earning about 350 a week after tax so you can get out. Take my adice dont waste your lives like i did its only good being the man for so long.
I went to park high aeons ago as in 12 years ago, the school was rough then. I still consider myself a parkonian lux et robur all the f**king way. the school may be rank but so is birkenhead what do you expect? I am a mum of 4 and had my eldest at 17, i am now at university training to be a social worker in order to help people like these kids you call chavs who had childhoods like i did. do you understand the shit these kids have to put up with every day, their parents are on the dole or/and smackheads their nieghbours are phsychotic drug dealers, put together with going through puberty, the social norm of being a teenage mum (in order to get your own house from the council to get away from said smackheads), in my opinion is the recipe for disaster. these kids should have an A* just for getting passed the rabid staffy bull, at the garden gate (if they have a gate and it hasnt been wade in for a bag), to get the f**king school in the first place. XX
I finished this school in 2009 and am happy to say that I got good GCSE’s, I took part in sport and got along with a lot of people. But apparently in Park High school if you want to study, help someone else or take part in something other than PE, such as art, or in my case Drama, you automatically become a “mosher” it’s laughable that they can use this in a derogatory way when I’d rather not fit in than be pregnant when I’m 12, the only thing I’d be able to look forward to was signing on. And to all the people who are defending Park High all I can say is that you are proving a point. Most, but certainly not all, of students are compete morons. How can you try and defend your “skewl” when you can’t even spell it. Congratulations on the baby. Or if you’re not pregnant, congratulations for making it to 16 with out getting pregnant. You’ve made us all so proud.
Reading people’s arguments amuses me so much, except that i had to translate a few of them to English. I completely agree with this guy. Park High is a wreck. I just finished my last year, and i don’t think i’ve ever been happier. I got fed up of it from day one, but as my GCSE’s crept up on us, our teachers began to fall apart aswell, leaving us stranded. I never had a legit Maths teacher, because he fell ill, and got replaced with substitute teachers. They weren’t too interested in going over what we missed, so began on a new topic everyday.
As for the students, i don’t think i’ve ever met such rude girls, they’ll shout at you if you happen to be in their ‘way’ (yes, that counts as being metres ahead too) even if you and your friends are just innocently going to class. Haha, the best rule that was ever brought to this school was “Do not put makeup on in class.” (even the teachers laughed at the students in some cases) because they used to sit there and cover their faces in more foundation, until they decide they’re satisfied with the new coat. If there was any left over from liquid foundation, or left on their brushes, they’d wipe the remains on the nearest object at hand.
My brothers went there before me, and the rest of my family realised it was a big mistake, so they actually sent their kids to other schools, even if they were further away.
About the Physical Education issue, i thought it would be compulsary, concidering it was a sports college, but after we bought our kits, we were told we would be doing BTECH for the next two years. Which, involves nothing more than typing things out on computers, instead of keeping fit, doing the complete opposite.
Don’t get me wrong, i have had fun at that school, and not all of the people are so bad, i guess you’d get those kinds everywhere you go.
And please, if you’re going to rant at me for posting my oppinion, make it understandable?
okay so yeh maybe there are some "chavs" at park high but comon what school doesnt!!! there are also "emos,goths,moshers". park high is the best!!! i left last year and im still realllly missing it i would do anything to go back there and im not a CHAV!! ur just so stuck up u need ta get a grip ur probs a full on depressed goth who went to a posh knob school and thought of nothing better to do then slit ur wrists and look like u want to kill yourself, oh btw i have no problem with goths but when yas start moaning about chavs it pisses me off no wonder why yas get kiked off on by them if u sayin shit like this!! grow d fuk up n stop moanin!!! i had the time of my life at this school its just dik eds like u who put the school down!
Now I might seriously regret saying this..but I went to Park High a few years ago and as a matter of fact I was Head Girl (cue five millions dickheads slagging me off) I have to say that I had a good time there, yes there were some serious freaks and some nasty bastards but most people were okay…it was more fun than having to go to work every day!
