Barnstaple is great, I have spent many an evening in the town, visiting different pubs. Always a cracking night out. Different views and pubs than Exeter. Course you are going to see chavs wherever you go.

i live in barnstaple and have done all my life i am friends with most of these people you are so simply shrugging off as ‘scum’ yes i wear tracksuit bottoms, i smoke and i enjoy the taste of cider, i also just fineshed my first year of college passing on three merits and i obtained seven gcse’s last year so why don’t you spend a bit longer than a weekend to get to know the area before makiing us look like inbred, 6-toed inhebriated, disease ridden scum who do nothing but drink and smoke! oh and by the way, ciggarettes cost just as much here as they do anywhere else.

ummm kk u think barnstaple is a shit hole… stay the f**k out then love no-ones forcing you to stay. oh and the swearing bit, nicely done btw saying we got a swearing problem then swearing yourself… (way to go dumbass!!) and being anonymous so you don’t get your head kicked in is probably for the best. I must say im surprised that you even get the bus to places… your chauffeur’s limo in for a service is it?? There are a lot of places worse than barnstaple love, maybe if you got out more you would know this. Anyway got to go now coz am supposed to be meetin me mates for a piss up innit (oh and can’t forget to start a fight on an inanimate object of course. Wouldn’t want to let you down now would i??)

I grew up in Barnstaple and I would say it isn’t a bad place to grow up, if all you want to do is get pissed because there is nothing else to do. It’s a good place to be in summer because you can get the bus to Croyde/Woolacombe and it is even more reason to drink. However once you get to your late teens and certainly twenties it is utter shite, if you don’t leave town you won’t notice it but if you spend some time away and come back, you will be shocked at the amount of dumbass pikeys and chavs that walk the streets, and in despair that there really is nothing to do of a Saturday night except get wasted on cheap vodka before hitting the ‘clubs’ (one could not imagine being inside one of these without being borderline unconscious) and then doing your best to avoid a beating on your way home past the cinema whilst pikeys descended from Forches and Gorwell come spilling out of Sherry’s and start sizing you up.

Problem with Barnstaple is the low-grade drug dealers who live very close to the bus station. They look like Wayne & Waynetta Slob only not as clean.

If these utter losers had to eke out an honest living in an honest way, the chavs wouldn’t be drunk or stoned as there would be no useless morons to a) serve them or b) sell them drugs.

This article is as weak as those it talks about. Firtsly Branstaple is a lovely town and one I am proud to be part of. I do, however, agree with the thought of too many Chavs. they are quite common place but then this is all part of the society that is evolving country wide and I do travel all over the country so I see this time and again. It is terrifyling at the rate in which they procreate and even recruit new additions.

Its down to no pride and that, my never to be friend, you too are guilty of. If you seek to add an article about the town you live in, that starts by calling it a shot hole then you are not welcome either. You too are apparenlty a chav by the way you write, and communicate.

You spend more time having a go at chavettes that chav’s. Have you been rejected by one? Or perhaps you are a chavette yourself?

Next time you write an article, learn to think first. Oh and by the way I am not defending chavs, just reprimanding one!!
