Edmonton sits on the north point of Tottenham in London and it is inhabited by some of the most seedy and dangerous characters that you will ever come across. The area is a pool of towering council estates, rubbish, graffitti and crime.
The actual chav (burberry, trackies, hoopy earrings) count isnt that high. This area is full of much more extreme versions of this known as the ‘rude boi’. a large proportion of the people in Edmonton will carry a knife or gun on them and will most probably use it on you when they mug you…or sometimes just for the hell of it.
Edmonton Green is the main area in the town and covered with gangs of youths in hoods ready to take your money and cause anti-social behaviour. and as for the Angel Edmonton….well God help you there. the only reson people go there is to commit a drive-by, have a gang war or push drugs
Just recently there was a murder opposite Edmonton police station. I let that speak for itself.

I quiet like living here,all theses people saying there are dangerous and weird creepy people living here is a bit over the top isnt it?they should get out more.If they had a hobby and spent less time getting drunk and stoned,they wouldnt have so much time on their hands.I like living here becouse its near Highgate Cemetery,and I can get on my bike and peddle there in the dark at night in no time.Dressed all in black armed with a spade I can slip over the wall 3 in the morning and get on with my hobbie,digging up a few stiffs.Its better than a work out,all that digging,found some great stuff to take home and work on in the my shed,like my Victorian mans head as a base for a lamp shade,a arm chair made out of leg bones and arm bones,and a bird cage made from two sets of rib cages,Im working on a sofa at the moment.Not only that I dont spend anything on clothes,you should see the dress I got last Thurday,good as the day the person was buried in it,waste not want not thats my motto.
Edmonton, North London is by far the shittiest place I’ve visited in my whole life. I’ve had the misfortune of having to work in customer services in the area since June 2010, constantly having to deal with rude, ignorant, aggressive people, most of whom have a very poor command of English. I can’t wait to get a job in a civilised part of London.

Yes I agree with the last post, the first review appears is not my realitiy of the area. I’ve been living in Edmonton for about 6 years now. While the area is not without incident, most reported violence is isolated. I’ve never witnessed any anti social behaviour myself unlike my previous experience of living in well healed Ealing. There’s some lovely victorian houses which are very affordable. Transport links are excellent, it’s only 30 min train journey to Liverpool Street. There are also lots of big shopping centres such as Lidel, Tesco, Asda, B & Q etc. For social life, you’re very close to Winchmore Hill, Crouch End, Wood Green. The Edmonton Green Shopping Centre has been much improved.

Well i live in Edmonton and i strongly disagree with the negative stereotypes made on the first review on Edmonton,North London about “rude bois” and “chavs”. I believe that the comments here was based on major exaggeration, however i do believe that there are unneccesary acts of crime and anti-social behaviour. Yet, Edmonton,and Angel Edmonton isnt an area where you would find the most “seedy” and “dangerous” people or characters. There are other towns and areas such as Wood Green, Tottenham, Bruce Grove etc which when compared to Edmonton are way more dangerous. Furthermore, there are no drive-bys or gang wars, thats a major exaggeration and an faulty observation of the area, which would only be made by someone who bases these so-called facts on rumours and stero-types and poor research.
Edmonton is a average town, developing well with new bus stations, stores such as Argos,Asda and etc. Edmonton is improving rapidly both with its building refurbishments and with the people living there.
