Actually, I have a lot of time for good ol’ Pompey. You need to re-define your terms. Pomps isn’t really chav, it is PRE-CHAV. By which I mean that it’s the original tough town, built up on trade, the navy, wars, commerce, sailors (arrr!), drinking, whoring – it is what it is, and has grown ovee the generations. But I really liked it, as it’s massive with lots to see, but always used to hover for a bit before nipping over to the Isle of Wight. The earlier poster has it wrong about luring Pompey Man and Pompey Women onto the island. It was a running joke with my friends in Portsmouth that the locals look down a bit on the Isle of Wight – they think it’s ‘fulla in-bred types!’ Which suits the second home over 55s islander lot fine. Lots of culture (there is!) in Pompey, the accent rules, and I love the fact that these brickhouse build blokes are terrified by Pompey women – they can be wild! When I went out on the tiles in Pompey, I witnessed scary cat fights, women flashing their bazongas shamelessly, and, whilst sitting on the sea wall eating my chips the following Saturday morning, I placed my hand accidentally on a sharp weirdly textured object – it was a broken 3 inch false purple nail. Love it! More grit than Chav. Every young man should go clubbing in Pomps as a rite of passage.

For a website that displays so much moral snobbery towards others, the lack of spelling grammar and punctuation is appalling.

You take the moral high ground so readily; highlighting everything that ‘chavs’ like to do and cannot do, taking jibes at their lack of education, jobs and prospects etc…

Could it be that you live in constant bitterness and contempt of those around you because you are worried that you yourselves are inevitably become like those you so detest?

Here’s a hint. If you are unhappy with your life and the way it is going, you and ONLY you can put positive steps in to make the changes and become a happier person. Until then lets see some proper use of the English language while taking snide jibes at other people and their local areas.

I lived in Portsmouth from the age of 11. Started in Southsea, moved to North End, then ended up living in Buckland haha. Oh dear it really is full of chavs. But I got out now at University AWAY from Portsmouth thank God!! I think the only people who want to stay in Portsmouth are the chavs, and they are the only ones who think it is any good!!

hahaah i live in buckland. its pretty bad and yes there are quite a few chavs. but as long as you aint some poncy posh person you should be ok. Just dont shout at anyone. and not all of us are chavs. Theres a grammar school. I go there and i come from buckland. so were not all chavs !! but its so funny to read your coments

Somerstown and buckland ArgghhhIts not safe to walk around at night, and there all God ugly Inbreds. Who get pregnant at like 12 or something claim benefits then apply for a council house then have another kid !!! I hope the few good ones get out !! GO TO WORK ¬!
