Search Google maps for OL11 2JG and you will find an estate to the East of Rochdale centre that goes by the name of Kirkholt.
The “civic focus” of Kirkholt is the Strand, if you look at the place on a map you may think it looks like a large pustule ready to explode.
The Strand has a row of shops, usual cheap booze for the feckless denizens, hairdressers, and a laser skin treatment clinic no less!
The laser shop probably does good trade in removing “Lee4eva” tattoos from orange peeled orange coloured lumbar regions.
There is a private hire office at the Western end of the strand, they have vending machines kept in cages. The vending machines are not dangerous but the customers of the taxi company most certainly are.
One day I parked my vehicle on the strand for I had business in the area. On locking up I gave the usual glance around and saw two youths looking through an upstairs window in a house oppsite the shops.
Sure enough when I returned to the motor 20 minutes later the window glass from drivers door was on top of the window glass from the previous victims cars.
Anything taken from the vehicle? A shopping bag with bread and one bottle of wine, neither would have been identifiable through the glass.
This happened at half one in the afternoon when there was plenty of people about.
I reckon I would bet money on which direction the scrotes came from and went back to.
So I drove away feeling hard done by but not surprised when I came upon the scrote estate death-wish road traverse.
To witness this phenomenon is very strange and I have seen it in many low-life places: It happens thus, a female scrote pushing a child in a pushchair will veer to the kerb and begin to cross the road just as you are passing in a motor. The pushchair will be pushed out into the road suddenly but as the two damned souls enter the carriageway the pace will slow to a diagonal crawl which will ensure you have to slow down if you wish to avoid a day in court.
Sometimes there is a male scrote in attendance and this will make a person think there may be an ambush coming their way. All but the child will stare you out as they perform their “dare you not to stop” stroll across the road.
One day I will just go to the court and say a wasp came through my open window and I panicked.
Recommend you only visit if driving a “technical” and have 40 metres of .50CAL belt ammo for the bed mounted gun.
Ive lived on kirkholt for over 6 years now and ive had no problems what so ever so its not that bad as people trying to make it out to be. I use to live up spotland but had to move because I had some parent stalking my eldest child to and fro from school.
I lived up Kirkholt in the 50′s and late 60′s it was a good place to live..I was shocked when I recently visited how downhill it had gone.
kirkholt is not that bad i love the place tbh but i just looked at that articul and and its all lies come and live on here before you start talkin about us
i think kirkholt is great i love the place i dont know why but i do i have lived on there all my life its nothing to what poeple make it poeple just tell alot of lies and kirkholt isnt that bad at all im sat here readin that articul at the top of the page and im thinkin we are not scrotes
kirkholt is the pits
Find it really annoying that when you google kirkholt this is the first drivel that comes up, this has been the same for the last 4 years, why does this totally negative story come up as first story?
I visited the ‘community art place’ that’s been there for ages up on Kirkholt last year for a meeting, you know the place run by that lady with the 2 big hyper dogs. I’d heard lots of horrible things about Kirkholt, and was wondering about coming to the next all dayer at the the Working Mens Club coz i’m a pupils of the Wigan Peers and Tropicana All dayers, more recently the NCIS Northern Soul all nighters – music seems to conquer all.
i lived at kirkholt 15 yr ago… i have just done a northern soul alldayer at kirkholt working mens club …dec 11th… next one is sunday jan 22nd ..3pm till late …3djs… £3 on the door.. its a shame you folks on kirkholt cant appreciate a good event as it was.. so you folks at kirkholt come and enjoy a great sunday afternoon in january you wont be dissapointed …lenny
newbold is worse than kirkult for sure and syke is definatly catching up!
haha!!
i was born and raized up on kirkholt from the 80s and yes it may have had its bad years but as far as i know the worst ever years up on kirkholt, was from 1993 to 2005 tbh i think its not not bad now , it sure has calmd down alot since the early days , the main problem as far as i cud tell was the kirkholt comuntity club ,bringing in all the piss heads , and the traveler’s that moved on there witch in my forts brought down kirkholt to the ground, yes i must addmit i was a little tw,t i did bad things on there at the age of 9 or 10 we had out own litle gang , i lived on curzon rd eee i remember the days when there wasent a single fence on there , shame when day built the fences they was an instant target to be brooke ad used to burn with haha, resulting in many peoples gates ,fences looking rarther poorley lol. but to comper with , ashfeild vally flats of the time i think the vally come out on top for crime “till day was pulld down like lol” any ways great and bad times up there for me …
Jesus Christ…did you ever do ANY spelling lessons at school?
sounds about right lol
I think the minority give the estate a bad name; it’s truly not THAT bad. I’ve only recently moved away, and all my family still live up on the estate so I’m here quite regularly. Most of the people are quite friendly and as long as you dont look like a bloody pitbull chewing a wasp then you dont pose a challenge to the few yobbos.
I grew up on Kirkholt, so glad i left gone majorly down hill! Visit family there regulary with my car door locked and avoiding eye contact with any passers by.
this is so not true lol
Your inadequacy speaks volumes.
…I hear that become today (october2010 )a best pleace to live in rochdale? is that tru? better that spotland
hahahahahha this is WELL funny and WELL true i live on kirkholt and i cannot stand it its a s**thole.
i live up crackholt its baldy xx u can all bring it
I grew up on Kirkholt during the 50′s, 60′s and early 70′s coming back regularly on leave from the Armed Forces to see my folks. It used to be a fantastic and I mean fantastic place to play and grow up but as with ALL communities, peoples attitudes and behaviour have changed. There’s no respect for anybody or anything anymore. The toe-rags even tried to burgle my Mums house when we were at my Dads funeral. Lazy, uneducated bastards who don’t work and feel entitled to everything on a plate have taken over. Courts won’t jail these scumbags when they do wrong. They will rob the vulnerable instead of getting off their asses to do a days work. Snag is, they pass on their inconsiderate chavvy attitude to their scummy kids. These morons are too stupid to realise they have ruined their own community. Kirkholt has gone too far down the pan now to save it like the rest of the crappy estates in Britain. There are still very good and very decent people that live there but when they are gone, the scumbags will take over and even caves would be too good for those assholes. I despair for what was once a great estate with lovely people.
