Penrhyn Bay is a lonely seaside retirement village, purpose built to house elderly scousers as they head out of the polluting factories and refineries of Merseyside and into their ‘twilight years’. The town has a mourneful feel to it; a shadow of death that seemingly never lifts. Those unfortunate enough to have been born into a Penrhyn Bay household cope in varying ways; plotting their escape or drinking. For the town’s Chav population, the local ‘Somerfield’ outlet has become the center of the baseball-cap community. Local Chavs will recall the story (in their thick North Welsh accents – a delicate mixture of Scouse and alcohol) of how their beloved hang out was aquired from the town’s falling Goth population – many street wars were fought to gain control of the trolley-bay, sought after for its proximity to the store and therefore cheap alcohol and cigarettes. A shrewd trick orchestrated by the Chavic community, the workforce of the ‘Somerfield’ store has been infiltrated by undercover Chavs so that alcohol and tobacco can be sold to their underage bretheren.
Non-Chav strongholds include the Beach Estate and the Redrow – both areas are populated almost entirely by geriatrics and outsiders are treated with extreme suspicion.

I grew up in Penrhyn Bay and now live in Oxford I was sad to leave such a wonderful place close to the sea as well as the countryside and although it has changed over the years ,it hasn’t changed much , the people are very friendly and I always look forward to returning to visit friends and family.
You obviously have a problem too with people from Liverpool or scousers as you like to put it.
In my opinion ,you can’t tarnish a community or race with the same brush . There are good and bad in all walks of life. People who are positive and friendly and sad people who try to drag a community or place down to their negative levels….sound familiar ??

I’m a boringly middle class professional who’s lived all over the UK – London, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Lancaster. I currently live a ten minute walk away from Penrhyn Bay; and I used to live there a few years ago. It’s one of the most quietly middle class parts of Britain that I’ve ever seen. Small; quiet, neat streets; low crime; upmarket local comprehensive and primary school; countryside a five minute walk away; and the kids are quiet, friendly and polite. No council estates, no blocks of flats, no chavs.
(If you don’t believe me about it being middle class and safe, phone your insurance company and say you’re thinking of getting a house next to the ‘terrible’ Somerfield (tell them Penrhyn Beach West, Penrhyn Bay, Conwy County) and you want to know: are insurance prices high? As they’ll tell you, they’re *incredibly* low.)
North Wales has got some real shitholes like Rhyl (in the top 5 for UK crime, per head of population) and nearby Colwyn Bay is a cesspit full of skagheads, pedos, Poles and baby-making skanks who’ve never worked a day. But why on earth pick a decent place like Penrhyn Bay to slag off?
This guy must be on drugs, penrhyn bay has high crime in fact above average if you check the national statistics, its full of oap flats among the prom, and has two huge council estates at the rear, its also where in 1995 Sophie hook was abducted from her garden and murdered, a number of other crimes have happened here and its far from decent, its basically an oap decaying slum with a dirty beach,
