I’m spending eight weeks in Didcot (I live in Newcastle), and it’s one of the nicest places I’ve ever lived. I’ve never seen a town with so many parks and fields! It sounds like you’re pretty deluded… Also, no town that contains separate boys and girls schools can be scummy! How very posh!

For a fair while I worked just outside Didcot and commuted to there. I didn’t notice any real amount of chavs and I think you’re overstating the town’s flaws.

I’m not exactly a massive fan of most of Oxfordshire aside from Oxford itself to be honest, Didcot included, but I would call it unexciting rather than chavvy!

Shoppers watched on in horror as two men fought in the aisle of Budgens in Broadway, in Didcot.

Police were called on Friday night after violence broke out in the shop at 9.38pm between two men in their 20s.

It is believed that the pair, who are not thought to be known to each other, had a disagreement outside the store moments earlier.

A man was then seen following the other into Budgens where he punched him, before going to a nearby kebab shop, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was taken to hospital in Oxford where he had stitches and surgery on a fractured arm.

Det Con Victoria Roberts said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.”

A 23-year-old man from Chalgrove was arrested in connection with the attack and has been bailed to appear at Abingdon Police station on October 20.

This is a little over the top. I’m from Didcot and haven’t ever seen Didcot teenagers pull a knife on anyone on a train. Clearly you don’t get out very much and have just heard hyped up gossip! Also I went to DGS and I am now doing a degree in nursing, so it can’t be that bad. Stop stereotyping.

I am a teenager (13) living in the Ladygrove estate of Didcot and all I have to comment on this is, what a load of crap :L Didcot isn’t that bad! Yeah at school you see all of the ‘ruff’ people who can’t be bothered to go to class but that’s only 95% of all Didcot teens

Although well written, this article is very biased and often untrue. You clearly haven’t been to other parts of England, such as certain towns up north. Personally, I don’t understand where you got the thing about the station from, neither do I understand how you think it is the most aggressive town in England, a bit more research needs to be done. Yeah Didcot isn’t great, but its not that bad!
