wow everyone here talks crap. your all going on about portsmouth being such a shithole, how you get so much trouble there, how its the worst place in the world, 1st off im from london, a million times worse then portsmouth in the way of violence, gangs and poor people. 2nd off theres so many rougher places then portsmouth, i saw 6 guys jumping 1 guy in southsea, i stepped in and told them to f**k off before i knocked them all out and they shat themselves just because i was wearing a new era hat (associated with londoners) so obviously they gathered i was from there. 3rd off people saying are saying all these “chavs” are on benefits and are lazy, but someone actually said portsmouth council rejected to have tescos and ikea built there, you think all these “chavs” would be on benefits if there was actually jobs available? got to remember there is a lack of jobs out there at the moment, all i can say is stop being so closed minded, yeah some of these “chavs” are dicks and dont deserve to live here, but some of these people you class as “chavs” arent actually chavs, just people who cant get out of the shit life there living because of the government f**king the country up. now im a f**k up from school because i used to hang round with these london gangs but im an intelligent guy and i just made you all look stupid. so how do you feel?
I have lived in Portsmouth for nearly 14 years and I can honest to god say, it is getting worse. I am only 26 and I am fed up with not being able to open the windows because of the snot-nosed vile mongoloid sproglins, that these degenerates can’t seem to stop popping out, won’t shut up for five minutes along with the chavvy scumbags drinking beer in the morning up and down the road – it doesn’t make you look “well ‘ard” you look like tramps.
Even if I take a day off work, there is someone noisy twats in the street all throughout the day (with their kids who should be at school) but no one in my road seems to ever f**king work.
I have lived in a few area of Portsmouth and it is all the same shit everywhere you go:
- screaming parents who shriek their childrens duo-syllabic names at the top of their voices (always ending in an “ahhh”, “eee” or “ohh” sound e.g. Ella, Bella, Sophie, Tiffany, Harmony). Come to think of it… it’s the same naming convention you use for dogs so they can be called back from a distance (e.g. barney, buster, milo, pixie etc)
- scruffy good for nothing kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers who do nothing but litter, swear, steal, shit, piss and puke all over everything (I have even found someone’s debit card broken off in the side-repeater on my car where they tried to steal it…. the side repeaters are worth about £1).
- Chav families who sit out on their doorsteps like mindless f**king apes defending their territory… and I have even seen them take their sofa into the front garden through the window to sit for the day. This is not normal human behaviour – it is feral, animal-pack instinctive behavior.
- dog shit everwhere…. and I mean everywhere. I have a dog and always pick up after him but it seems like the “well ‘ard cushty mush’s” with their Staffs and Rottweillers are too cool to pick up dog shit from the place their screeching little malnourished toddler will be playing the next day.
It’s like 60-70% of the people who live here cannot think ahead and can only focus on what is happening in that very instance. Furthermore, they seem to lack self-awareness (like many animals), to realise they are f**king chavs.
Finally, Portsmouth ‘shitty’ city council do absolutely nothing to improve the area. They have failed on multiple occasions to correct things that would be easy fixes but spend all their time worrying about how much money they can gain through stupid parking schemes and implementing it on crap like the “sails of the south”. What good is having a landmark on the entrance to Portmsouth when there is a landfill on one side of the motorway in and a tip/scruffy crap derelict greyhound stadium on the other?
They rejected plans for IKEA to be built in Portsmouth, increasing the amount of jobs and boosting the local economy, they also rejected Tesco’s proposition of building them a new football stadium if the council let them build a Tesco store on the old site.
They talk about the ‘traffic issue’ but when they looked a getting a mono-rail they said it was too expensive. Not that they could have one anyway as it would just get vandalised to hell as with any other public transport in Portsmouth (double decker buses won’t even go to certain parts of the city because of vandalism, uncontrollable youths and scumbags… how vile is that).
Anyway, rant over, I feel better, now onto working overtime so I can save up to move – I would be happy to sell my house even if we made a loss, just to get out of this shite hole cess pit.

Tbh I think you need to be a little more specific when mentioning Cosham. Whilst Cosham itself is not exactly the best place in the world, the true repository of scum is Paulsgrove. Paulsgrove was also where the paedophile riots were held about a decade or so ago. The irony of it being that what killed the paedophile riots off was the main protest leader being arrested by the Police for child neglect. (Her 2 year old child was found wandering the streets naked as it had gotten out of the house where she’d left it on its own.) The same woman however has a rap sheet far longer than her arm with the Police and Social Services for child neglect, child abuse, and various “usual” Paulsgrove crimes.
Just found this site. Brilliant! I live in Portsmouth and find that an Ever increasing proportion of the population are scum. Part of the problem is social housing. I own my own house and when I bought it 11 years ago, all the houses were privately owned. One house was sold to a housing association and that was it… Noise from radio, dog barking cars beeping etc – could no longer go out in the garden in the Summer. Now, three more houses are owned by housing associations – so now the police are having to regularly visit the area, there is swaring and shouting all day, cars being damaged etc. its hell.
The reason these people cant afford their own houses is because they are lazy, have the wrong attitude, are uneducated and unable to perform any task that society needs. This begs the question, why are we paying to support and help breed them? If you had cancer, you wouldn’t think “I know, I will spend my hard earned money on making sure it spreads”
These people are a cancer and they are spreading. One of the chavs in my street has a son – about eighteen, he has a kid about two. His Mum is on benefits, he is on benefits and when his kid grows up, it will be on benefits.
Personally, I have had enough of the government taking my money and using it to promote these people. My family and I plan to sell up next year and move to France. Several of our friends have already left the UK and keep telling us it’s the best thing they ever did. I know that over the last four years, there have been more middle class people leave the UK than in any time in history.
When all the decent people have left the UK – the people who actually work hard, design things, add value to society etc. there will be nobody left to support these scroungers, so hopefully, they will die off. In a way, all this reminds me of the film 28 Days Later – where a virus turns all the people to zombie like violent animals who just kill. These infected people as they were called could only kill and not do anything else. Eventually, they all starved to death, leaving behind a few humans who had not been infected.

I don’t agree with you at all on that one. I live in buckland, which is just outside of the north end area, and i have done very well for myself, even though I live on a council estate. I recently got accepted into Portsmouth Grammar school on a scholarship, which is worth more then just paying to attend (which is £12,000 a year might I add). We have never had any trouble, and as long as you watch yourself, and don’t go looking for trouble, you will be fine. As some other said above, you are a very ignorant and arrogant person, who needs to get in touch with reality, and be brang down from the rose tinted cloud your floating on. Get real.
i was born in portsmouth and have lived here all my life (currently cosham), i did well at school and am very happy with my lot. not all of us are like that and i think it is unfair of you to lump us all together like that. myself and my husband work hard for what we have and my children are all fairly high achievers. wherever you go you will find trash but i am offended that you would assume i am no good because of where i live. i think you are very ignorant
This is all true, Portsmouth is the worst place to live, and i’ve lived here all my life. I do hope to move when i’m older though, but it’s just surrounded with chavs everywhere! I live near Portsmouth and I disagree, Chavs annoy the hell of of me but there’s nice places too! Portsmouth itself I love and some of the surronding areas like Porchester are fine and the castle is beautiful. Cosham however I agree is a shithole, however not everyone that lives there is on the doll, fat and ugly. I think it’s extremly ignorant for someone to generalise like this.
